What materials are suitable for compression molding?

Compression molding, also called pressing formation, is an operation of firstly putting plastics in granular or fibrous form into the die cavity under forming temperature and then closing the mold and pressing to make the form and cure of the plastic. Compression molding can be applicable for thermosets, thermoplastics and rubber materials.

What materials are suitable for compression molding?

Compression molding is basically suitable for processing all kinds of plastics, especially for materials like amino resin, epoxy resin and polyimide, which would be difficult to form by injection molding which will affect the appearance quality of products; for plastics reinforced by asbestos or fibreglass, if they are formed by injection molding or extrusion, the fibres are apt to break at the pouring gate, making the mechanical strength, especially impact strength reduce, and losing the meaning of reinforcement; polyester in block and sheet molding compound will need special forced feeding device if they are injection molded which results in high equipment cost. In short, compression molding is the most effective methods to make high strength plastics.

PHP is specialized in making compression molding machines which are used for the forming of fibreglass and carbon fibre reinforced plastics. If you have any questions, feel free to call +86 0510-83394311 or send mails to cindy@wuxipd.com.
